I'm talking of people like Maggie and Jake Gyllenhal, would they watch each others movies which have sex scenes in them? In mainstream movies sex scenes are usually simulated except for a few. But in all the cases the female star's nipples seem to get erected in the sex scenes.

It's the same basic reason why a man will sometimes get an erection from a little kid squirming around on his lap. It's simply a physical response to stimulation. It doesn't necessarily mean the person is sexually aroused.
Besides, just because the sex scenes are simulated, that doesn't mean the people involved don't get aroused.

oh lordy. Sex movies are all scripted and there are many breaks in between. They aren't doing more than enough, its just the magic of editing to make it seem so. Also, camera angles can make a penis more lengthy or girthy than it really is.
Some porn stars do exercises and since they do it as a career, they have a lot of mental power to hold back orgasms as well.

In the movies, sex seems to be either absolutely fantastic or absolutely terrifying.
Is there anywhere that sexual relationships are shown as somewhat ok, somewhat disappointing, mediocre and sometimes just plain dull.

i think that books seem to more accurately portray sex than movies. movies are all about what looks good on the big screen. books are a little less concerned about how they come off. movies are for entertainment, books are to make a real statement about emotions and the human experience, which of course includes sex.
