Is an exhibition a show only lasting a few days or a months? Is it something you apply for at a gallery?
Preferred Answer: An exhibition (solo or group) is a show usually of a given timeframe, from a single night to a month or so, of a body of work. Where works are for sale, a commission is paid to the venue owner of from 20 to 50 percent. A consignment simply means your work -- one or two pieces --has a price put on it by a retailer of many items or gallery owner representing many artists who may use a discount factor to make a sale. Duration and markup is usually agreed upon in a written or verbal contract.

Does anyone have any tips, or know of any good websites about putting on an exhibition. Such as a timeline or relevant paperwork for artists to fill out, or artists or art directories in the Los Angeles area where I can post the call for entries. The exhibition will be in my retail space. It's going to be pretty small, maybe 10 or so works. Thanks.

I am a student of B.Tech 2nd yr from IIIT in India. Please help me and suggest some rockin project for a science exhibition tht i'm goin to participate. The project shd be based on computer science or IT and suitable for my level?
Preferred Answer: The best project would be one that interacts with the people. Maybe a USB camera connected to a computer and voice output. The camera might read the number of fingers a person holds up then says "three". Hardware and software both, plus fun interaction is always a winner! MIKE

Needs legal advice! I was issued a ticket a month ago and am due to appear in court the 9th for 28-708A Exhibition of Speed. I was pulling out of an apartment complex in a manual transmission and slipped the clutch by accident, causing my tires to squeal. I'm going to appear in court and fight the ticket, but I need to... know how to present myself and how I can defend myself!
Preferred Answer: You fight it by going to court and telling your story. And since it more than likely isn't true, your fight will be somewhat pointless.

So for my exam I have made an exhibition model and I've got to make a booklet to go with it, there are four artworks in my exhibition, so how should I set this out in my booklet? How can I lay the contents of my booklet out??
Preferred Answer: The best thing is to look at examples - but I would have a kind of overal concept discussion - then illustrate and discuss the individual artworks as separate chapter - with artist biogs and further reading lists - lots of white space usually and laid out so as to appeal to the visually literate.
